WORDS FROM OUR PRESIDENT

Welcome to the California Theta Chapter of Alpha Epsilon Delta, the premier pre-health honor society and professional fraternity at the University of California, Los Angeles!

Our chapter was founded in 2003 by Theresa Kim, Wendy Chen, and John Cho in hopes of creating a support network built upon our three tenets of service, scholarship, and camaraderie for students with different healthcare aspirations at UCLA. Nearly two decades later and we continue to share that same vision as our founders. Our chapter currently has members pursuing a variety of careers in healthcare including medicine, optometry, dentistry, research, and so much more!

Through our seven programs, members are given unique opportunities to contribute and serve the community in conjunction to exploring their own interests during the process. With our extensive alumni network of graduate students and health care professionals, we are able to provide our members with mentorship and guidance on specific career paths.

Alpha Epsilon Delta has helped foster my academic and professional development. Having the resources and the unconditional support from my fellow brothers and sisters has helped me become more confident in my own capabilities as a student. Through networking with alumni at meetings, attending workshops, and participating in mock interviews, I have not only gained more career directionality, but I am also well equipped with the skills necessary to pursue my goals of attending dental school. However, my biggest takeaway during my time in Alpha Epsilon Delta will be all the memories and friends I have made along the way which will become some of my fondest memories from college.

Alpha Epsilon Delta has given so much to me personally and I hope to do the same for the future generation of members. Please feel free to explore our website to learn more about our programs and members. Thank you for reading and we hope to see you at future recruiting events!

Sincerely,

Scarlet Yang, President 2023-2024
